Martiya Possession is an innovative group of dancers, located in the Washington DC metro area. We perform world fusion and experimental styles of oriental dance.

Ya Meena and Mavi have been performing together since 1998. Raven joined MP in 2000; since then we have performed in numerous nightclubs and at many special events in D.C., Virginia, and Maryland. Our fourth dancer, Asharah, joined us in October of 2003.

As a troupe, we want to bring the art of belly dance to a newer level of mystery, sensuality, fantasy, creativity and talent. Our avante-garde style is just as refined and just as hypnotic as traditional belly dance, but with a decidedly alternative edge.
