Our costuming is a flurry of fusion fashion, much like our dancing, we combine the traditional with the non-traditional, we sometimes wear coins with black vinyl or fishnets with Egyptian textiles. Our costumes may sometimes combine full tribal skirts, Flamenco frills and lace, Turkish and Indian jewelry, and top it all off with an elaborate head dress. There are shows that we design special costumes for, unique to that event only. We also dance with props such as daggers, Egyptian canes, swords, veils. In addition we sometimes turn up the heat with fire play, special effect lighting, and other curious objects. No two of our shows are ever the same.

Our troupe name is derived from the name of a Romany spirit of the night, Martiya. Dancing as if we have been possessed by Martiya, we think the name suits us perfectly!
